Using the default PDF theme with an additional font

This post was updated on .
Hello, I'm happy with the default PDF theme however I'd like to be able to use an additional font beside the default one, the Charis SIL font, so I can represent the pronunciation of certain words using the International Phonetic Alphabet.

Is it possible to denote specific areas in a documentation, something like this:

[Pronunciation]
----
Some text here
----

Which uses the custom font? Then the rest of the document to be in the default font.

UPDATE: I checked the documentation and I noticed that I can create a custom role, like so:

Word: [.pronunciation]#əɪɑæʊ#

However using the same role for each word makes the document too verbose. Is there a way to use a role for a block of text?

Thank you,
Leslie

Leslie,

Yes and no. It's possible to use the theme to change the font for recognized block types, such as an example block or a code block. (See https://github.com/asciidoctor/asciidoctor-pdf/blob/master/docs/theming-guide.adoc). It's not currently possible to change the font for a specific instance of a block. That would be similar to https://github.com/asciidoctor/asciidoctor-pdf/issues/483. We're not that far away from being able to do that now, though some architecture is needed to sort out exactly how it will be done.

Best,
