How to shrink a table to fit?

msc
Is there any way to shrink a table to fit the available width?

Neither [%autofit] nor [width=75%] (75 can be replaced by any value less than 100%) have any effect on the table width, presumably because it is naturally wider than I am trying to specify.

Alternatively is there any way to apply a, for example [small], style to every cell without having to put it in every cell?

Regards
