I've talking about it quite a bit over the last few months in the gitter channel and issue tracker.

I don't think Alex's point was about AsciidoctorJ PDF. I think it was about whether the browser-based rendering part would work on the JVM (the HTML to PDF step). We'll have to take that into consideration. But we're not talking about switching away from Ruby. I never said that.
