Dan,

It took me a while to get back on this, because I indeed thought at least the vast majority would be backward compatible, however I noticed something odd in the very first document I created. This was a document that worked fine under 1.5.0.alpha.16, however when I created the PDF with 1.5.0.alpha.17, the tables had additional spacing in each row.

I spent some time working out exactly what was going on and where the root cause is. I opened issue #1053 for this and added the details I found, along with screenshots of the issue.
