The following plugin adds support for Asciidoctor in Thunderbird:

You can simply type your emails in Asciidoctor and just press the A icon to render it as Asciidoctor. This is really great. To use your own style sheet you need to replace asciidoctor-plus.css of the .xpi package by your own style sheet.
