One more time. Missing the semi-colon:

COMMAND=ls; vim -c ":Man $COMMAND" -c ':TOhtml' -c ":w! `pwd`/$COMMAND.html" -c ':qa!'

Correction. That should be on one line.

COMMAND=ls vim -c ":Man $COMMAND" -c ':TOhtml' -c ":w `pwd`/$COMMAND.html" -c ':qa!'
