Icon font mapping

apj68
G'afternoon, Asciidoctors!

When I use an admonition, I don't get the font next to the admonition (for example, the warning exclamation triangle to the left of WARNING):

<?>WARNING: My warning icon is missing!

I don't mean it puts a <blank> or a <?>, it just only has the admon text (CAUTION, WARNING, etc).

I believe that the default admonition icons need to be mapped but I can't find an explanation of how to do that.

Could someone please point me to the reference?  I've been looking all over the various icon and admonition documentation but can't seem to find it.

Thanks!

Please explain how you are converting the AsciiDoc and what output format you are generating. That will help us understand where to direct you.

Cheers,

Oops, sorry.  I'm using Antora with the default UI (more or less) for a local HTML site.

The icons themselves are enabled using CSS. The default Antora UI does not add the CSS required to enable them (it was a design decision). However, you can find the CSS you need in the UI for the Asciidoctor docs.

The Asciidoctor docs use Octicons for the icons. You can use whatever icon set you want. And since you control the CSS, you can use either SVG icons or an icon font.

Best Regards,

-Dan
