separate files

gristel
Hi,

I'm sorry if I overlooked this somewhere, but is it possible to have the HTML output rendered in separate pages instead of 1 long page, but still keep all the toc functionality and such?

Thanks a lot in advance!

You're talking about chunked HTML. In core there is not, but I believe Alex Soto had something that would do it.

Alternatively you can do Asciidoc -> docbook-> chunked HTML using standard docbook tools.

As Jason mentioned, one way to get multi-page (aka chunked) HTML is to generate DocBook and feed that file to the DockBook toolchain (a2x, fopub, jDocBook, etc).

There is an early prototype of a multipage HTML converter in the extensions lab. If plans move forward as scheduled, I'll have a chance to work on maturing this converter over the next few months.

(There's also an open pull request to fix some issues. See https://github.com/asciidoctor/asciidoctor-extensions-lab/pull/56).

Cheers,

-Dan
