Welcome :)

I am not sure what the issue is exactly but I'd try to guess. Correct me if I am wrong please.

Is the problem that icons do not appear, but instead just some text?
If it is so, then that's because you need to set the attribute "icons" to "font".
Here are the details http://asciidoctor.org/docs/user-manual/#admonition-icons. But the summary is that you need to add the line ":icons: font" under your document title.
Optionally you can pass it as an attribute, but how to do that depends on your rendering tool: ruby, java (asciidoctorj, maven, gradle,...), atom,... other?

Exactly. You can see this in the example.

There's a lot of work going into the user manual right now, so if you have something specific that you want to see fixed...or you want to help, feel free to file issues here:

Unfortunately, you can't float an image next to a regular paragraph in Asciidoctor PDF right now. There's an open issue to add that capability, but it's not fully solved yet.

One workaround in the meantime is to use a table. Put an inline image in the first column and the text in the second. Then disable the frame and grid. Not pretty, but it works in a pinch.
