Create an Asciidoctor DZone refcardz

ggrossetie
Hello,

I think it could be great to create a DZone refcardz for AsciiDoc/Asciidoctor, what do you think ?
I don't really know the process for making this happen but if the community think this is a good idea I could ask @mrhaki (Hubert Klein Ikkink) as he already published blog posts on DZone.

This idea came up a while ago and we reached out to DZone. Unfortunately, they weren't interested.

AsciiDoc sounds cool, but wouldn't make the hottest refcard topic right now -- basically because (a) this topic-space is relatively small, (c) developer excitement is relatively low (even if it *ought* to be higher), and (c) even within this space, Markdown is similar but (I think) more popular. (Let me know if you disagree on any of these points, though.)

The e-mail goes on to say that would be willing to do it, but they couldn't offer a stipend for it like they normally do.

Frankly, I don't think we need DZone. Forget them. They'll make us use Word anyway. I think we can do one ourselves.

Neo4j created a backend for AsciiDoc Python that generates output that looks similar to a refcard.

We could do the same for Asciidoctor.

This would be a great project for our emerging documentation group. Perhaps we should start with an issue in the asciidoctor.org repository. wdyt?

Cheers,

-Dan

The Neo4j's refcard backend is looking great!
I first mention DZone because we could benefit from their "large" audience but let's forget them.

I will create an issue in the asciidoctor.org repository or in the asciidoctor backend repository ?

Cheers.

Let's track it from the asciidoctor.org repo.

I'd say we have our own large audience who will greatly appreciate this reference. Let's do it.
