Callouts

glaforge
Hi there,

I'm curious to know if there are plans to implement the Callout feature of AsciiDoc:
http://asciidoc.org/userguide.html#X105

I tried a document with such callouts, but they don't get replaced at all.

It's nice for annotating code and give explanations on particular lines.

Guillaume,

The callouts are implemented, but the pictorials don't show by default (hence they don't appear to be replaced). If you turn on icons, then they show up.

To turn on icons, put this attribute entry in the header:

:icons:

Or pass this flag on the commandline.

-a icons

You need the callout icons from AsciiDoc in the images/icons directory.

In 0.1.2 I'm adding support for CSS-based callout icons.

If that doesn't work, could you post a sample?

I agree, callouts are very essential. They are among the top reasons I selected AsciiDoc.

I got it working by adding :icons:
Without it, the numbered cues were not replaced.

Thanks!

Great! I'll add this to the reference guides to make it more clear. I'm also going to make the callout bubbles visible by default when using the Asciidoctor stylesheet that's arriving in 0.1.2.
