Asciidoctor-latex error with `#`

MattPalermo
If I put `#` into a asciidoc file and produce latex output, the result is \texttt{#} in the tex file. This seems to be producing
an error:

! Illegal parameter number in definition of \reserved@a.
<to be read again>
                   }
l.196 \texttt{#}

If I remember correctly, # is a reserved character in tex and should be escaped like \#. I am not sure if I am supposed to escape the hash character in asciidoc. If so how can I do this?

Also is this the preferred channel to post newbie questions? (As opposed to the chat room or the github issues list).

Yes. The chat room also works. The issue tracker should only be used once you are sure you've discovered a bug. I suppose in this case a bug is warranted. I ask that you file the issue in the appropriate repository on GitHub (in this case, asciidoctor-latex).
